Our Vision for 2024

We move towards our Centenary in 2024 within a framework of vision and values which will sustain us for the next three years.

We will put members first. And foremost.

We will make members, guests and visitors feel welcome, valued and relaxed.

We will continually improve our course – our greatest asset.

We will maintain an impeccable reputation for customer service, hospitality and food.

We will recognise the importance of sustainability, diversity and community.

We will manage our club professionally, effectively, transparently and with integrity.

Finally, and most importantly, we will make our members proud.

Guiding principle

We strive to make our Members proud.

Our Goal

To be respected as the finest parkland course in Surrey, with full Membership, a healthy waiting list and consistent demand from societies and like-minded visitors.

Membership

The number of Members will be carefully managed to balance the need for revenue against access to the course. We will welcome new Members who have the same shared values as the existing membership.

The Club

We are a high-quality private Member golf club. We put Members first & foremost. We will have a positive, friendly and welcoming external image which attracts new Members, societies and visitors. Communications with Members will be timely, relevant, concise and easily accessible to foster engagement

The Course

The Course will be the subject of continuous improvement and evolution, consistently led by our appointed Golf Course Architect, always respecting the Harry Colt design philosophy.  We recognise the course as one of Surrey’s premier parkland courses.  We will strive to be featured in all relevant Top 100 UK Golf Club rankings.

Clubhouse and other property

The Clubhouse will retain its traditional features and the accommodation will be maintained and improved to provide a complementary asset to the Course to provide a facility that is optimised by Members and visitors alike. Any opportunities to generate capital or income for land in our ownership will be investigated

Golf and Practice Facilities

Members will be offered the widest possible opportunity to play social and competitive golf to meet their preferences. A Tee Time Booking System be used to provide clarity on available playing times and to optimise the use of the Course. The Captains’ Committee will represent the views of the wider Membership regarding all golf-related matters.

Food and Beverage

The Club will provide a varied and appealing menu across both food and beverage. The menu will reflect seasonal tastes and culinary trends whilst always incorporating the carvery offering, for which the Club is renowned.

Our Staff

The Club’s staff will be suitably qualified for their roles, deliver exceptional customer service and their performance will be the subject of continuous review. The relevant training will be provided to enable staff to undertake their roles. All staff will be expected to reflect the Club’s values and support the Club’s vision and plans at all times.

Finances

The Management Committee approves financial plans which provide sufficient operating resources to management to constantly enhance the day-to-day member experience and to provide adequate investment resources to continually improve the Course and Estate. Long-term capital projects, such as Fairway Irrigation and the construction of a Reservoir, will be substantially funded through the Club Membership, subject to the borrowing rules in place.
