Tandridge Golf Club - Towards 2035

I am delighted to share with you Towards 2035, Tandridge Golf Club’s strategy for the next decade. This plan builds on the foundations laid in our previous vision, Towards 2024. Our strategy has been carefully developed to protect everything we value about Tandridge while ensuring the Club remains financially resilient, competitive, and forward-looking in a rapidly changing golfing landscape.

It honours our proud traditions while embracing innovation where it enhances the member experience. In recent years, supported by significant investment and the tireless commitment of staff and volunteers, Tandridge has reached new heights. Membership is full, our reputation is growing, and both our course and clubhouse are consistently ranked among the very best.

We now have an opportunity to consolidate those achievements and, in due course, to build further upon them. The strategy outlines two clear phases:

• 2026–2030: A period of consolidation, allowing us to enjoy what we have built, maintain excellence, and strengthen financial resilience.

• 2031–2035: A period of ambition, positioning Tandridge firmly at the premium end of the golf club market while remaining true to our ethos as a private members’ club that warmly welcomes visitors.

Guiding principle

We will develop with respect for heritage and a focus on quality. Our plan is clear: five years of consolidating strength, followed by five years of bold but controlled growth. This balance will enable Tandridge to move forward with assurance while remaining a proud members’ club.

Our Goal

To position Tandridge among the UK’s finest private clubs. The first phase will secure financial stability, facilities, and membership strength; the second will elevate reputation and experience, ensuring lasting pride, recognition, and resilience.

Membership

We will protect exclusivity while fostering a vibrant community. Mentoring, legacy planning, and thoughtful recruitment will sustain continuity. Future improvements will be member-focused, with every phase designed to strengthen pride and belonging across generations.

The Club

We will build steadily, addressing essential needs in governance, facilities, and service. Having achieved our objectives, we will pursue higher ambitions, enhancing Tandridge’s standing while always placing members first.

The Course

We have invested in bringing our course to a world-class standard. In the coming years we  refine playability , presentation and aesthetics in line with Harry Colt’s vision, enhancing our reputation among leading UK courses.

Clubhouse and other property

Initial upgrades will focus on essential comfort, efficiency, and preservation of character. In later years, as budget allows, we will deliver more ambitious improvements, creating flexible, high-quality spaces that reflect both tradition and modern expectations.

Golf and Practice Facilities

Competitive and social play will be supported at all levels. Practice facilities and technology will be improved over time, while Colt Corner and our heritage will be celebrated, reinforcing Tandridge’s distinctiveness.

Food and Beverage

Tandridge is renowned for its outstanding catering, especially the celebrated Tandridge Lunch and famous Pudding—cornerstones of our identity that will always be preserved. At the same time, we must evolve with modern expectations. Alongside these traditions, we will continue to add lighter, healthier, and more creative options, ensuring dining remains relevant and appealing. Ongoing investment will benchmark our standards against the country’s finest clubs, further strengthening pride in Tandridge’s reputation on and off the course.

Our Staff

We will invest in training, recognition, and career development. A loyal, professional team will deliver exceptional service, ensuring Tandridge remains a place where members feel valued and cared for.

Finances

We will maintain member subscriptions at a fair, sustainable level, with no bonds or levies. Early years will focus on disciplined cost control; later years will allow for more ambitious investment, supported by careful visitor income and sound planning.
